Our trips are for all levels of skill and tailormade trips are about us designing the trip around you.
For the St Kilda trip paddlers should have done some sea-kayaking or have some white-water experience. Please do not be put off - contact Tim to talk about the skill level required.
Our trips are about exploration and not 'wild and scarey'.
A shakedown session is usual for Day 1, where you will be asked to demonstrate your kayaking skills. We reserve the right to restrict when you are able to paddle, depending on the level of skill you demonstrate.
There are opportunities to explore ashore and we endeavor to provide alternatives if you decide not to paddle.
We can supply good quality expedition-ready sea kayaks and associated equipment (paddles, buoyancy aid, spray-decks). You are free to bring your own boat if you wish. Please contact us for on advice on transportation to the Outer Hebrides.
You should provide your own paddling clothing, the minimum recommended being: Sea kayaking cag (we can provide theses) or dry-suit. (We appreciate some people like to paddle in wet suits and we leave this to your discretion). You will also need thermal underclothing, hat, poggies/gloves and appropriate footwear. We can supply some of these if you need them.
