Sea Kayaking the World Heritage

Sunrise over Boreray photo by James SmithThis is a unique opportunity to paddle with 58°N round the double World Heritage site of St Kilda and other outlying islands of the Outer Hebrides.

Our journey starts in Meavig on the West Coast of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. We sail aboard the MV Cuma with its skipper Murdo Macdonald. Staying aboard the Cuma we use the boat as our moving base. Finishing the kayaking at the world famous Callanish Stones.

The Trip

This is a rough idea of an itinerary the weather plays a big part and our decisions on where we go are dictated by the weather. Our objective is to get to St Kilda and this is why the trip is 7 days to give us the best possible chances. We can not guarantee we will get there but so far we haven't failed.

  • You will have two highly qualified and experienced guides from 58°N with you.
  • Murdanie from the Cuma has been fishing these waters for over 25 years and knows them intimately, he has been running trips to St Kilda for over eight years.
